Cool Butterflies features the art and photography of Deborah Carney (a.k.a. Loxly) and several other wonderful artist and photographers that have learned how to capture the beauty of butterfies. Butterflies have been referred to in literature as flowers on wings, and indeed some of them are. My personal favorites are the Paper Kite butterflies, which I never knew existed until a visit to the Sara Sachs Butterfly House in St. Louis. The butterflies on this site were photographed at Highland Park in Rochester New York, Sara Sachs Butterfly House in St Louis, the new butterfly exhibit at the St Louis Zoo, the Butterfly House at the San Francisco Zoo and in a variety of outdoor locations in Rochester and New Jersey. I hope to add greatly to this collection, to me butterflies evoke a sense of peace and wellbeing and I hope to be able to capture more of them on film and present them to you as both photos and art.

I hope to have cds and ebooks about butterflies available later in 2009, we’ll see how that goes!!!
